classic east display suite
At Classic East, Bates Smart's vision called for interiors that speak to the quintessential elegance of East Melbourne — a neutral, natural material palette designed to let residents shape a space entirely their own. Designer Doorware contributed two custom pieces to this refined, classical-contemporary language: a decorative groove pull handle for a considered, classic-modern finish, and a sculptural pull handle installed at the display suite entrance, its circular form a quiet architectural statement against timber battening. Together, the pieces reflect a shared understanding between architect and maker, hardware conceived not as an afterthought, but as part of the interior's broader material story.
H.A.G office
For H.A.G, the Australian company behind some of the country's most trusted homeware brands, including Maxwell & Williams, Casa Domani, Krosno, and WOLL, Designer Doorware crafted a pair of custom entrance pull handles bearing the H.A.G insignia itself. Cast in brushed metal and mounted directly onto the glass entry, the handles greet every visitor with a permanent piece of branding — a literal handshake with the company's identity before they've even stepped inside. Bespoke design, distilled to its purest form, hardware conceived not to complement a brand, but to embody it.

These custom hammered cabinet handles bring a raw, tactile texture to an otherwise pared-back joinery run, each disc individually finished with a hand-hammered surface that catches light and shadow differently at every angle. Set against crisp white cabinetry, the contrast is deliberate: a moment of texture and depth within a minimal palette, proving that even the smallest detail can carry the weight of a design statement.
G-Bull Pull
Created for Sophie Goineau, the G Bull Pull is a custom entrance handle or pocket door pull developed to complement the architecture with precision, scale, and material presence. Its geometric form is both elegant and ergonomic, a bold circular gesture set against the door's flush plane.
Machined from solid brass and finished by hand, the weathered surface carries the patina of age from the first day, sitting naturally within a home built nearly seventy years ago. It is a refined expression of luxury hardware, designed not as a fitting but as an architectural element in its own right.
