four seasons, denver
Designer Doorware joined a project team of architects, interior designers, engineers, and builders to help complete the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences in downtown Denver, Colorado. We designed and manufactured custom five-star bathware that solved a series of functional and installation problems while staying within the client's budget.
design brief
The brief was to deliver five-star luxury while value-engineering the entire project, so the original design concept and finish had to be kept without going over budget. The biggest challenge was the towel bars. They had to fit into very tight installation spaces, and some of those spaces varied with the joinery.
our solution
Using our step-by-step design and manufacturing process, we developed custom bathroom accessories for the project, providing a total architectural hardware solution. We made the adjustable towel bars from highly polished stainless steel, scored at set lengths so they could be cut to size on site to account for joinery variances. Because of how we made them, the factory finish stayed intact after cutting.
The back-to-back towel rail and shower door handle needed a different solution. Fixtures like these tend to loosen with use, so we value-engineered a fixing system that pulls the two handles together during installation. They were made from solid brass plated with polished chrome to match the polished stainless steel vanity rails
- Showers: Custom-made back-to-back towel rail and shower handle in polished chrome, based on our Duo range of door handles, pull handles, cabinet handles and knobs; back-to-back Duo door knobs in polished chrome
- Vanities: Adjustable towel rails for concealed under-bench mounting in polished stainless steel
Every custom piece was designed, prototyped, manufactured, and test-fitted on site to make sure it would perform for years to come.
