What do I need to order for a complete lockset?
This depends on the lock type and function. For most Australian and Euro mortice locks, the lock body is ordered separately from the trim and accessories needed to complete the set.

Are any locks sold as complete sets?
Yes. DBA11-60 and DSL14 can be treated as complete products. DBA, DBU and DSL14 deadbolt sets include the main components. Where latch holding is preferred, magnetic catches or roller bolts can be used.

Backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the keyhole or spindle hole. Measure from the edge of the door to the centre of the keyhole or spindle. 60mm is the most common backset in Australia.

Do you recommend double cylinder locks?
Double cylinder locks are commonly recommended for glazed doors and gates where appropriate. Please ensure the selected function meets compliance requirements.
Which locks suit timber, aluminium or steel doors?
ML 2000, 5000 and 6000 series suit timber doors. NS 2300 and 3000 series suit aluminium doors. Euro mortice locks suit timber doors. Steel lock boxes are available for steel doors and gates. Please confirm door details before ordering.
Are your locks suitable for external doors?
Some locks and finishes are suitable for external use depending on application and exposure. Please confirm before ordering.

Are your locks handed or reversible?
Some lock bodies are non-handed or reversible, including DBA11-60, ML 5000 series and ML 6000 series.
How do I identify if my door is left hand or right hand?
Stand outside facing the door. If the handle is on your right, it is right hand. If on your left, it is left hand.
What cylinder types do your locks use?
ML and NS series locks use C570 oval cylinders. 507 nightlatch uses C201 rim cylinders. Euro locks use C11, C12 and C13 cylinders.
Can I order locks keyed alike?
Yes. Keyed alike and keyed different options can be ordered online. For master keying, construction keying or restricted systems, please contact us.
Which escutcheons, turn snibs and trims are compatible?
Common options include R10, R50, R90, R100 and R200 roses, 50–100 series plate furniture, and NE10/NE50 escutcheons. Please confirm compatibility before ordering.
Do any locks require special adaptors or spindles?
Yes. Some applications require adaptors such as ML-ADP-D (2000 series), ML-ADP-Y-D (5000 series) and SC104 (Euro locks).

Are any locks fire rated?
Yes. The ML-2000 mortice lock (selected functions) has been tested for up to 2 hours on approved fire-rated door sets.
What is the difference between accessible compliance and egress compliance?
Accessible compliance requires operation with one hand and low force. Egress compliance requires release by a single pushing action.
