Awards & Recognition
Designer Doorware doesn't just specify hardware. We design it, and we manufacture it. That distinction sits behind every product we make, and it's why our work has been recognised by some of the most prestigious design programs across three continents.
Nine wins. Six honourees. From Melbourne to Milan to New York, our collections have been judged against the best in the world and held their own.
MONTE SUGI
Good Design Award (Winner) 2023
Our Monte Sugi Collection has been honoured with a Good Design Award in the Hardware and Building category. Born from Shou Sugi Ban, the centuries-old Japanese art of charring timber with fire and smoke, Monte Sugi breathes ancient mystery into new wood — a deep, enduring black finish that's as sustainable as it is striking. Recognition from Good Design Australia, one of the world's most prestigious design programs, affirms the craftsmanship behind every piece.
GIRO ENTRANCE PULLS
Good Design Award (Winner) 2022
Marble, terrazzo, timber, a slice of natural stone set in solid brass, turning an entrance into a statement. Giro brings the weight of European history to your doorstep, and in 2022 it was awarded a Good Design Award for exactly that: beauty, elegance, and craft made tactile.
BULL PULL
Good Design Award (Winner) 2021
A door pull you feel more than you see. Bull Pull disappears into the door itself, its bullishly bold geometry offering a clean, integrated solution for sliding and hinged doors alike. Its quiet confidence won a Good Design Award in 2021 — proof that great design doesn't need to announce itself.
TIMBER NIKI
Interior Design's Best of Year (Honouree) 2022
Where nautical geometry meets natural warmth. Timber Niki pairs the clean circular face of our Niki design — inspired by the porthole windows of Streamline Moderne and Art Deco architecture. That distinctive character earned Timber Niki an Honouree nod at Interior Design's Best of Year 2022, the industry's premier awards celebrating the most significant work from designers, architects, and manufacturers worldwide.
CARMEN TERRAZZO
NYCXDESIGN Awards (Honouree) 2019
The original that started it all. Carmen Terrazzo set a slab of speckled stone into solid brass, a bold, tactile entrance pull that would later grow into our full Giro collection. In 2019, it was named an Honouree at the NYCxDESIGN Awards, a global stage honouring outstanding design across everything from architecture to accessories, at the heart of New York City's celebrated design week.
BULLET+STONE
Architectural Product Design Awards (Winner) 2019
Raw concrete, cast against luxurious metal. The Bullet + Stone Collection pairs the rugged imperfection of hand-crafted concrete with the warmth of solid brass: a bold, tactile contrast that envisions new realms of design. In 2019, it took top honours at the Architecture MasterPrize, a global award celebrating the ingenuity of products and materials that make great architecture possible, with winners fêted at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
