Installation & Compatibility

What is the minimum and maximum door thickness for your sliding door flush pulls, Bull Pulls and Blade Pulls?
Most of our flush pulls, Bull Pulls and Blade Pulls can be installed on a minimum of 35mm door thickness with no maximum limit. Some Blade Pulls can also be installed on 16mm cupboard doors using a pan-head screw from the back.

Can your flush pulls be installed on both timber and glass sliding doors?
Most flush pulls are suitable for timber doors; however, our Blade Pulls can be installed on both timber and glass doors.

Are your flush pulls suitable for both new builds and retrofitting existing sliding or cavity doors?
Yes. All of our flush pulls can be used for both new builds and renovations. For existing doors, ensure the flush pull selected covers any pre-existing cut-outs.

How deep does the cut-out need to be for a flush pull?
Between 15–20mm maximum.

Are your flush pulls compliant with DDA/ADA requirements for accessibility?
Flush pulls are not ADA/DDA compliant as they require users to grip within the recessed area. Blade Pulls, however, are compatible with ADA/DDA guidelines as they have an easy-to-grip profile, but the door cannot be fully recessed into the cavity.

Do your flush pulls work with soft-close or self-closing sliding door systems?
Yes. All flush pulls are compatible with any sliding door closing system. Blade Pulls must stop short of the cavity to avoid hitting the door frame.

What fixings are included, and can I request alternatives?
All flush pulls are designed to be fixed using adhesive and include an additional grub screw for aluminium doors or a wood screw for timber doors.

Do your flush pulls have a lip for use on hinged doors?
Some flush pulls include a lip for hinged-door applications, while others are lipless and intended for sliding-door use only.

Can I order a flush pull or blade pull in a special length or custom size?
Yes, we can custom make most designs to suit your requirements. Simply contact us for assistance.

Can I recess the flush pull completely into the door face?
Yes, provided the door thickness allows. We recommend the cut-out be performed by your door supplier or a qualified workshop.

Design & Functionality

Are your flush pulls available in lockable and non-lockable options?
Yes. Selected flush pulls and Bull Pulls are available with both lockable and non-lockable options for bedroom and bathroom doors.

Can I install a flush pull on both sides of a sliding door?
Yes. With the Bull Pull, one unit serves both sides. We also offer a double-door Bull Pull set with one locking side and one receiving keeper.

Do you offer edge pulls for fully recessed cavity doors?
Yes. We supply both light-duty and heavy-duty edge pulls for cavity/pocket doors. Bull Pulls include an integrated edge pull for easy retrieval from the cavity.

Is the finish consistent across levers, pulls, and flush pulls?
Yes. We maintain consistent finishing across all Designer Doorware product ranges to ensure cohesion throughout your project.

Practical Considerations & Maintenance

Are there finishes or materials recommended for high-humidity areas (bathrooms/laundries)?
Most products are made from solid brass, with some available in stainless steel. Refer to our “About Our Finishes” information, as some finishes are living and others offer lifetime durability.

Is the inside edge of the pull comfortable and safe to grip?
Yes. Most flush pulls and Bull Pulls feature a chamfered internal edge designed for comfortable, safe use by all ages.
