CENTURIES OLD TECHNIQUE. Based on the organic feel of the Monte Collection, Monte Sugi uses a centuries old Japanese technique to breathe ancient mystery into new wood. While average treatments only cover the surface of wood, Shou Sugi Ban involves burning or charring wood with fire and smoke. The resulting shade of deep black is a long-lasting, sustainable finish with an alluring appeal.
